When I was a kid, I used to be a very shy and timid person who always keeps the “No” word in my mind because of fear. My introverted behaviours have limited my interaction with the outer world. In addition to having a smaller body size compared to my peers, I was also often teased and despised by people around me. I told myself, it is time to change after being deeply impacted by the surrounding negative vibes and criticism.

My transformation started when I was unexpectedly offered to serve as the school’s head prefect. In the most hopeless moment in my life, I was given a torch of encouragement. I was genuinely surprised and grateful that my teachers had placed their faith in me. The life-changing event was still vividly present in my memory. Since then, I started to pick up myself, stepped out of my comfort zone and attempted to face the music although I was still doubting myself.

Innovate
I aggressively seek opportunities to find a better version of myself. Out of curiosity, I have joined the robotics club, hoping that one day I could innovate solutions using technology that can bring value and contribution to society. The sense of determination allowed me to create two projects to cater for the worldwide United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2017, a smart waste management system automated using robots has been invented to create sustainable cities and communities. In the following year 2018, I developed a peanut butter autonomous system that promotes sustainable agriculture, improves nutrition, achieves food security and most importantly ends hunger.

Influence
During the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, I have started my own YouTube channel that mainly shares my past experience as a SPM candidate and study techniques. In less than a year, the channel has grown from nothing to having 15k subscribers. From the positive comments and touching feedback from my community, I am glad to know that my action managed to influence and influenced them in their studies. Furthermore, being a customer service also allows me to achieve my goals of providing happiness and solving people’s difficulties.

Inspire
Life is all about giving and taking. Apart from inspiring myself, I also inspired others. I initiated a trip to visit Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Seremban (PERKAKAS) with a few of my partners who each has their unique trait to make the event to great success. Give your best where you have your best to give. I felt worthy to help others when we have the capabilities. Although it was not much, at least we’ve brought those orphans some happiness and inspiration as a small act of kindness goes a long way.

I always tell myself, that life is just a game, there is nothing to lose. The desire to change, but not the changes, marked the starting point of an entirely new chapter in my life. We’re what we’ve overcome. Buckle up and start working towards our unregretable journey.
